Battling with insurance companies, high co-pays, and out-of-pocket costs do nothing to keep us healthy. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ {NAME}, Our health care system is broken. After a child is born, parents should get to spend time bonding, recovering, and connecting with their babies. But too often, health insurance companies rob them of that opportunity – and I know this from personal experience. During the birth of my son, I had to have an emergency C-section. In the weeks that followed, as I recovered and healed, all I wanted to do was spend time with my baby. But I had to spend hours and hours over the course of many weeks on the phone with my insurance company, trying to figure out whether or not they would cover all the costs related to the procedure. This is wrong. I support transitioning our country to a single-payer, Medicare for All system that guarantees coverage for every American and puts the health of people over private insurance company profits. [If you’re with me, pitch in $5 or more to help me deliver Medicare for All in Congress now.]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation to Becca's campaign for Congress will go through immediately: [$5]( [$15]( [$25]( [$50]( [$100]( [More]( America’s piecemeal health care system allows millions of Americans and children to go uninsured every single day. And if we’ve learned anything from the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s that tying health insurance to employment can leave you without coverage at the moment when you and your family might need it most. Battling with insurance companies, high co-pays, and out-of-pocket costs do nothing to keep us healthy. It’s time to send lawmakers to Congress who have the courage to take on the status quo and fight to win Medicare for All – will you join us as we fight to get this done?
