Without further ado, here are five of the coolest things that weâve been digging into over the past month. BALMUDA THE SPEAKER Thereâs this underground bar in Austin that plays old jazz records through a tube-powered pre-amp, with those tubes giving off a soft, warm glow. We havenât come across anything that completely matches the sound quality and overall vibes â but this [Balmuda Speaker]( comes pretty darn close (and at a fraction of the cost). The Balmuda Speaker isnât vacuum-tube powered, but it features warm tube lights that you can sync to the music. Itâs spot-on for vibes, and the sound quality isnât too shabby. XFL 2.0 (3.0?) Do we really need 12 months of football? Probably not, but then again, how much of anything do we really need? Anyway, the XFL is back for its 2nd â or maybe this is its 3rd â attempt at giving us entertaining off-season football. But this time around, The Rock is running the show, and the opening week [wasnât actually all that bad](. GET IN THE GAME Imagine yourself in an NBA game throwing down a tomahawk dunk on Giannis Antetokounmpo. The NBA is working on a new streaming technology that will allow you to scan yourself via your phone and put yourself directly in the game youâre watching. See it in action [here](. Now, does anyone actually want this technology? Weâre not sure, but it could open some interesting virtual reality doors down the road.
