Six years ago, my world turned upside down when a gunman with a military-grade assault weapon stormed my high school, shooting 34 people and killing 17 kids and educators. [David Hogg]( [I’m about to ask you for $15 to help my organization Leaders We Deserve and BAWN elect young leaders who are dedicated to banning assault weapons and finally ending gun violence in this country. But first, please let me explain why. >>]( Six years ago, my world turned upside down when a gunman with a military-grade assault weapon stormed my high school, shooting 34 people and killing 17 kids and educators. In the wake of the Parkland shooting, young people like myself were determined to do something about this injustice. [Alongside other survivors and family members affected by the shooting, we did what many said was impossible:]( – We passed gun safety laws in Florida, a state notoriously owned by the gun lobby – We passed over 100 gun laws in state legislatures nationwide – We passed the first federal gun law in 30 years [But there’s still so much work to do, {NAME}:]( – Ron DeSantis enacted dangerous permitless carry legislation in Florida – 2023 was the deadliest year of gun violence in over a decade – Republicans blocked a historic vote on the Assault Weapons Ban in the Senate [That’s why my organization, Leaders We Deserve, and BAWN are partnering to elect young gun safety champions up and down the ballot who have the guts to fight for our communities.]( [I KNOW we can elect a wave of young leaders to Congress and State Legislatures nationwide, but only if we have the resources to take on the gun lobby’s deep pockets. We urgently need to raise $5,000 in the next 24 hours. Missing this crucial goal would be a devastating setback in our fight to ban assault weapons. Can I count on your $15 in the next 24 hours? All proceeds to this email go to my organization, Leaders We Deserve. >>]( Leaders We Deserve and BAWN are working tirelessly to elect young gun safety candidates dedicated to passing critical gun safety reforms. Because the harsh reality is: We'll never end mass shootings if we don't rid our country of the assault weapons that enable them – and elect leaders who are willing to do it. [I can’t tell you how much it would mean to us to hit this goal.]( It would mean we’re one step closer to preventing what happened in Parkland and Pulse from ever happening again. It would mean we’re able to rush even more funds to elect gun safety champions like Nadarius Clark, the youngest member of Virginia’s House of Delegates in history. It would mean a real chance to finally make our schools, nightclubs, movie theaters, houses of worship, and grocery stores safer. It would mean the tides are turning against those who would put their profits over our lives. [Put simply, it would make all the difference in the world.]( [So I’m humbly asking one last time: Every dollar you donate will go directly towards helping Leaders We Deserve recruit, support, and fund young champions running for office up and down the ballot. Will you chip in $15 now to help us clinch this goal? It would mean so much to me to have your support. >>]( [Chip in $15 now >>]( [Chip in $25 now >>]( [Chip in $50 now >>]( [Chip in $100 now >>]( [Chip in another amount now >>]( Thanks for standing with me, David Hogg Co-founder, Leaders We Deserve Board Member, Ban Assault Weapons NOW!        ‚  ‚   BAWN is committed to replacing every cowardly and complacent lawmaker, regardless of party, that denies your right to live without fear of being shot. Legislators that support the deadly proliferation of guns, instead of common sense gun safety measures, are responsible for the carnage of gun violence -- and must be voted out. BAWN also lobbies legislators to support the assault weapon and large capacity magazine ban bills that will help put an end to the slaughter of innocent Americans. But they can’t do this alone. BAWN is relying on your support to kick every coward who refuses to protect our children and families OUT of office. Will you chip in right away?
