Five years ago my life changed forever. It’s sickening when I think about it now, but that’s how much I was in denial. [But the truth is: What happened to Alex and my family could happen to any one of us. None of us are immune from the gun violence epidemic plaguing our country.]( [I’m working day and night to make sure no one else has to receive a text saying your loved one was gunned down, like I did five years ago.
