{NAME} – My name is Brandon Wolf, and I escaped Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida five years

{NAME} – My name is Brandon Wolf, and I escaped Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida five years ago this week – but my best friends and 47 other victims didn't make it out alive. That night started like any other. Arm-in-arm with my friends, Drew and Juan, I remember Drew saying, "You know what we never say enough? That we love each other. I love you." I didn’t know that would be the last time that I would hear those words from Drew. Moments later, the first shots rang out. The stench of blood and smoke burned my nose as I listened to gunshot after gunshot. And when the second round started, I made a break for the door. I didn't look right; didn't look left. I just stared death in the face, praying for a way out. I survived, but Drew and Juan didn't. In memory of the Pulse nightclub shooting, I'm working with Ban Assault Weapons NOW to ban military-grade weapons like the one that killed my best friends. We set a goal to raise $50,000 this week in honor of those whose lives were senselessly stolen from them five years ago. But {NAME}, we're still way behind our goal, and we can't make up the difference in time if people like you don't chip in. [Will you rush a donation of $5 right now – as much as you can spare – to help BAWN finally ban assault weapons in Florida and defeat the NRA once and for all?]( America is a living nightmare of gun violence. NRA-backed politicians like Ron DeSantis send their "thoughts and prayers" and then block all commonsense gun reform that could save lives. DeSantis even just vetoed mental health care services for Pulse survivors. Not only have he and others done nothing to prevent the next shooting, he's rubbing salt in the wounds of those who survived the last. In the face of this opposition, we must take action. {NAME}, by the time you're done reading this, another American will have been shot. And by the time you lay your head on your pillow tonight, 95 more will be dead. We are out of time. We must turn our grief into action to stop the next mass shooting. [Please, in honor of Juan, Drew and the 47 other lives we lost in Orlando that night, help us ban assault weapons by making a $5 donation today. We're running out of time to hit our $50,000 goal, so make your contribution now to help us save lives.]( Ever since the shooting, I have felt an obligation – a responsibility – to keep those 49 Pulse victims from dying in vain. I felt challenged to ensure that Drew and Juan's voices didn't die on the dance floor with them. Let's honor them with action today. Thank you for everything you do to support our movement.
