[{NAME}, today marks 30 years since President Bill Clinton signed the federal assault weapons ban into law – for the first and only time in our nation’s history. And it’s also 20 years since elected officials let that ban lapse. I’m about to explain all the damage done since assault weapons were allowed back on our streets and why our fight to elect young leaders who will reinstate the ban is so important. If you don’t have time to read my entire message, could you chip in $15 before you click away? Your contribution goes toward Leaders We Deserve’s work to elect young gun safety champions up and down the ballot from coast to coast. >>]( 30 years ago today, President Clinton signed the federal assault weapons ban into law. 20 years ago today, our elected officials let that ban expire. [Today, my generation has become known as the school shooting generation.]( We live in a world where assault weapons rule the streets. We live in a world torn apart by endless mass shootings. We live in a world where no school, no community, and no one is safe. Because, since the assault weapons ban lapsed, thousands of innocent lives have been stolen by these weapons of war. [These slaughters are entirely preventable, {NAME} – but too many politicians would rather take the gun lobby’s blood money than fight for meaningful change.]( [That’s why I started Leaders We Deserve, and that’s why we’re teaming up with Ban Assault Weapons NOW! on the 30 year anniversary of the FIRST and ONLY time a U.S. President has signed a federal assault weapons ban into law: To call for the ban’s reinstatement. I need 2,500 supporters to chip in before midnight to help us defeat every cowardly politician who refuses to act and elect new leaders who will fight for our future by banning these weapons of war. So I’m personally asking, {NAME}: Will you chip in $15 right now to join our fight? The more you give, the more goes to the work that BAWN and Leaders We Deserve is doing to elect gun safety champions from coast to coast in this historic election year. >>]( {NAME}, here’s the truth: First, beloved President Biden [FOUGHT]( in the Senate for the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban. Now, Kamala Harris is VOWING to carry on his legacy and pass another federal assault weapons ban if she’s elected in November. But there are a lot of politicians standing in our way – and Republicans even BLOCKED a vote on a national assault weapons ban last year, clearing the way for more than 385 mass shootings in 2024. [So, {NAME}, if they won’t change the gun laws in Washington, DC, then we are going to change the government and elect young leaders who will.]( [Here’s the plan: BAWN and I are rallying a MONUMENTAL outcry – 2,500 brave supporters stepping up before midnight to send a powerful message no politician can ignore. I can’t overstate how important this moment is. We can’t let another 30 years go by without an end to the bloodshed. Just this week, we’ve seen communities in Georgia, Kentucky, Illinois, and more torn apart by shooters armed with assault rifles. So, if our leaders won’t listen, then we need young champions at every level of government to defend and protect our communities. Please, {NAME}: Can you rush $15 ASAP to join our fight? Your donation will go directly to Leaders We Deserve’s and BANW's efforts fund young leaders running for Congress and State Legislatures nationwide. >>]( [Chip in $15 now >>]( [Chip in $25 now >>]( [Chip in $50 now >>]( [Chip in $100 now >>]( [Chip in another amount now >>]( Thanks for your help, David Hogg Co-founder, Leaders We Deserve Board Member, Ban Assault Weapons NOW!        ‚ ‚ BAWN is committed to replacing every cowardly and complacent lawmaker, regardless of party, that denies your right to live without fear of being shot. Legislators that support the deadly proliferation of guns, instead of common sense gun safety measures, are responsible for the carnage of gun violence -- and must be voted out. BAWN also lobbies legislators to support the assault weapon and large capacity magazine ban bills that will help put an end to the slaughter of innocent Americans. But they can’t do this alone. BAWN is relying on your support to kick every coward who refuses to protect our children and families OUT of office. Will you chip in right away?
