Focus on the details for greater success [The Writer’ s Life]( April 10, 2023 "It's the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen." – John Wooden Hi {NAME}! It's exciting when you land a new project, especially with a new client … The thrill of knowing you won … and the anticipation of a new opportunity. We've all been there (or will be soon!). Yet as exciting as that moment is, Ted Capshaw says you need to take a specific action right away to improve your chances of success with the project. In today's Monday Morning Jumpstart, Ted shares critical steps you should immediately take to ensure your initial excitement doesn't stop you from missing the "details" that will help you better serve that new client. You'll see why, when you take the time to dig deeper, your work will be on target, and your relationship with your client will become stronger. [AWAI Monday Morning Jumpstart Digging Deeper]( So listen to Ted and Jade to discover what to do when you're handed a new opportunity, and how you can increase your success as a result. When you follow the advice they outline, you're more likely to take your relationship from "one-time writer for hire" to trusted business partner for the long run. As a writer and business owner, I've had to look at campaigns from the minutest of details up to the 30,000-foot view. Both views matter. You need to see the big picture, and yet you also need to get down into the roots of what you're trying to achieve with the various marketing materials. One element of a campaign that comes to mind as an example is a series of emails or autoresponders. Over the course of three, five, 10, or even 20 emails in a series, the overarching message needs to be clear … but the details and nuance in each separate message must also be engaging, persuasive, and motivating. Each email must get the click and move the sale forward, yet they also must be unified to your overall campaign message. When you can balance both the details and the big picture, you'll become an important and valuable member of the team. And you'll become the "go-to" partner your clients need.
