Look at these examples of how AI can make you a faster writer [The Writer’ s Life](
February 17, 2023 "A good tool improves the way you work. A great tool improves the way you think."
– Jeff Duntemann Hi {NAME}, Did you see Part 1 of Guillermo Rubio's article on AI yesterday? It was great, right? Having used AI in his own writing business for over two years now, he's got great insights into how it fits in our ever-evolving writing world … And more importantly, how YOU can use AI to become a better, faster, HIGHER-EARNING writer. That's right … As you'll see in today's issue, not only will artificial intelligence NOT replace you as a writer in the foreseeable future … The most effective writers are going to embrace AI moving forward. Look at it this way … I love to cook. I love to research and test new recipes. I love making new dishes and finding a new favorite my family loves. And I love the tools that help me do it faster and better … my Vitamix, sharp knives, stand mixer … But in the end, the output still relies on the input from me. The ingredients, the decisions on how much … not to mention the proper usage of each tool … cooking is very much determined by the person in charge. AI is the same for writers. It's a tool. And YOU are the one in charge. The output is only as good as the person using it. I highly recommend you play with a tool like ChatGPT if you haven't yet … it will be eye-opening. And then study G's examples of how AI can make you a better, faster writer … You'll probably discover applications for AI you weren't even aware of yet. Knowledge of what the tools can do will also make you a happier, more proficient writer! Plus, any anxiety about AI will disappear. And if you're looking to get ahead of the curve when it comes to using AI to turbocharge your copywriting success, be sure to get all the details on our [in-depth AI training package with G](. This is your chance to learn from the ONLY copywriter we know who has been using AI to boost his writing productivity and income (as I mentioned earlier, for TWO years now!). [Find out more about this historic training package here.]( Do it today though … because the crazy discount and lifetime access to all updates ends today! Oh, and before you dive in to today's issue below … I want to be sure you're aware of a free live training taking place at Noon ET today on writing white papers. Pam Foster and Lisa Christoffel are digging into the white paper opportunity, to show why these writers get paid more to write a couple of seven-page documents than most authors earn from a 300-page book! By Guillermo Rubio [female writer using AI tools on laptop] In Part 1 of this series, I gave you an overview of how AI can be your high-level writing assistant. (If you missed it, [you can read that article here](.) Today, let's take a deeper dive into how you'd use it and show you real examples. Let's get started! The first way AI can really help you out is with research. As you may know from experience, doing research as a copywriter is one of the biggest parts of the job. Without great research, you can't write great copy. That's where AI can save you a lot of time … Say you've been hired to write a sales letter to sell a supplement that helps ease joint inflammation. You're given a list of ingredients by your client. AI can help you do all the research. Take a look at what I get when I ask it to tell me more about glucosamine (one of the main ingredients of a fictitious pain-relief product for joint pain): [AI screenshot] What used to take HOURS scouring the Web … takes a fraction of the time. Not only that … It can spark even more ideas or things to research that you wouldn't have thought to check out! In this case, I could now research more about "hyaluronic acid" and "glycosaminoglycans" and the role they play in helping to ease joint pain. Now, even though AI is a great research tool, there is one BIG caveat: You've got to cross-reference the information it gives you to ensure it's accurate — and to find a source so you can cite it for your client. Currently, ChatGPT can sometimes give you "false" information that seems very authentic and factual. So be sure to always, always, always double-check everything it digs up for you. Now, that's product research. What about doing research on your prospect? AI can help you there too! Here's a simple example of how you could use it to do exactly that: [AI screenshot] Again, instead of having to search dozens of forums, groups, and more … … in less than a minute, you've got a pretty good idea of who your prospect is and what their biggest challenges and frustrations are. Of course, you might still want to check out forums, groups, and the like … but AI cuts right to the chase and gives you a ballpark estimate of where your prospect could be emotionally. Alright, say you've done all your research. You've cross-referenced it with Google. You're good to go, and it's time to write. What about brainstorming a few ideas for your headline? AI can help you with that too. Here's a basic example: [AI screenshot] Now, the headlines above are not that great. However, there are ways to "coax" it to give you better output, especially if you have existing copy you can "paste in" for the software to use. What if you're a content writer who needs dozens of content ideas for your client? Again, your AI "writing assistant" can help you with ideas for content creation: [AI screenshot] In this case, it produced 10 ideas in just a few seconds. For many writers, this is a process that can normally take an hour or more. Which is why AI can be such a big time saver. Finally, maybe you've written an email, but you're stumped for a good subject line. AI to the rescue! Just ask it to give you a few different subject lines … [AI screenshot] Now you can pick and choose which you like best, combine some of them, or maybe it sparks an idea for an entirely new subject line. Banish Writer's Block with AI Another great way us human copywriters can use AI is to eliminate writer's block altogether. Because it's a fact that it's far easier to work with something that's already on the page, versus staring at a blank page and blinking cursor. That's where AI comes in. You can ask it to write a longer article or piece of copy. It won't be perfect. And it certainly won't be something you'd turn in to a client. But, it's given you a start. You can take the output and start editing it … adding to it … and making it your own. For example, maybe you've been hired to write a "listicle" blog post on starting a dog walking business. You would hop into your AI-writing program … and ask it to create something like this: [AI screenshot] Again, not perfect, but a pretty decent start. Now, you could easily take that and make it your own, eliminating the blank page blues and saving you a ton of time. This is why AI is great if you also want to produce large amounts of content, quickly. Especially if you or your clients do any form of content marketing. This is why AI is a tool to be embraced, not feared. Just like your word processor helps you write copy on your computer, so you can save it as a file and send it to your client (as opposed to typing everything on a typewriter, and physically mailing in your copy) … … AI is a similar tool that can be used to help make your life easier as a copywriter. And if you'd like to learn more on how to do just that, I'm holding a crash course on how to leverage AI to make you a better, faster writer. It takes place Wednesday, February 22nd. We'll spend about 2-3 hours covering all the ways I've found AI to be most effective in helping you as a copywriter. (I've been using AI in my writing business for over two years now, so you can benefit from my trial and error and reduce your learning curve!)
