The reason can be found in a 1,400+ year-old company [The Writer’ s Life]( January 24, 2023 "Inside of every problem lies an opportunity." – Robert Kiyosaki 2023 could be a MASSIVE year for you, {NAME} … And the reason why can be found in a 1,400+ year-old construction company founded in Osaka, Japan. The company's name is Kongō Gumi. It takes a scroll nearly 10-feet long to trace the 40 generations of owners within the same family. Simply unheard of in this day and age … An age where the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports 65% of companies will fail in a mere 15 years. So how does a company like Kongō Gumi end up doing business for more than 1,400 years … … . and still continue to do business today, in 2023? I'll tell you the secret in just a second. Along with how it could immediately impact your writing career for the better. First, let's look at one more quick example. This company's name is Zildjian. They've been in business since 1623. They make cymbals — for drum sets, marching bands, and more. They're still in business today and their headquarters are in Norwell, Massachusetts. Remarkable, considering this is a business that's survived: - The American Revolution - The War of 1812 - The Civil War - World War I - The Spanish Flu - The Great Depression - World War II - The Korean War - The Vietnam War … you get the idea. Just like Kongō Gumi, they've been through thick and thin — and come out on top. How? And what does it have to do with your writing career? Two words: [Customer Retention.]( A company doesn't last 400 years (or 1,400+ years, for that matter) if they don't know how to keep existing customers and get them to buy again and again. See … When times are good, most companies focus on growth at all costs, by getting more new customers … But when times are bad, many end up going out of business because they don't understand this one simple concept: Give your customers an amazing experience. Build a relationship with them based on trust. Do that, and they'll keep buying from you! The only problem? Many companies these days have NOT been "tending" to their customers. Some don't even have any serious customer retention efforts in place. And now that we're entering uncertain times? They're scrambling to figure out how to keep the customers they've got, so they can stay profitable and stay in business! And that's where the BIG opportunity lies for you as a writer in 2023. You can be the one to help these companies build better relationships with their customer base, and keep them as customers. And frankly, most companies will pay you top dollar to do so. (Tomorrow, I'll show you how you can get paid up to $10,500 per client or more, for just a few hours' worth of work!). The reason why companies are happy to pay these heftier fees is because you're helping them increase their bottom-line profits. (The money the owners get to take home!) Because here's the thing … It doesn't cost much to keep an existing customer. But it costs the proverbial "arm and a leg" to get a new customer to buy for the first time. That said … Here are the three major ways your clients can start to retain more of their customers: Best Practice #1: Outreach This is simply reaching out to existing customers on a regular basis. Let them know you appreciate them. This can be as simple as sending out a monthly newsletter, a phone call to see how they're enjoying their experience with the business, or a "thank you" email telling them how great they are. It can really be that simple. You'd be surprised at how many businesses don't even do these simple basics! Best Practice #2: Loyalty The next way you can keep customers coming back for more is to make them loyal. This can be done with loyalty programs where they earn points that count as "cash" with the business … special customer-only deals or discounts … and more. Basically, you want to reward your customers for being loyal to you and make them feel good about it! Best Practice #3: Community Finally, another great way to keep customers coming back for more is to create a true sense of community. Help them feel they're part of something bigger. You'll often see many companies doing this by having a cause they donate money and time to … they'll have a big social presence … and more. Customer retention will be the "buzz word" for 2023 and moving forward. Because we're no longer at a point where companies could solely rely on getting new customers for cheap using platforms like Facebook ads or even Google ads. If you, as a writer, can help your clients implement these three "best practices," you'll be their hero. And a very well PAID one, at that! Interested in learning more?
