Hereâs how you overcome them ⦠[The Writer’ s Life](
November 4, 2022 "She believed she could, so she did."
– R.S. Grey, Scoring Wilder Happy Friday, {NAME}! How are you feeling about the "new approach" to a copywriting career we've been talking about this week? When I say productization now, do you feel … Excited? 🤩 Overwhelmed? 😧 Confused? 🤪 EXHILARATED?! << That's what my kids say when they're nervous and excited at the same time. If your answer is any of the above, my advice is the same … keep stepping forward and doing … Action is how you gain more clarity and confidence … especially with something new. So, let's take a minute to realize that if you have been following along this week, you've already learned a LOT about productization. That's big! And, hopefully you're feeling more confident and excited about the potential it has to help you make great money as a writer. (That's even bigger!) But you might still have some fears … which is to be expected. And since we started the week addressing fears, I'd like to end the week there too … Because fear is the #1 thing that usually stops us from "taking our shot." But before we get to that … Just a quick reminder that today is the LAST DAY to register for our Content Certification and Mentorship, where Russ Henneberry will help you create a productized writing business that will have you earning more out of the gate. [>> All the details are here.]( I rarely call something a "can't fail" opportunity. Because hey, life happens. But I do believe what Russ has put together will set you up to succeed. You'll walk away with a fully formed writing business, complete with productized services, proof in the form of a Content Certification, and the templates and experience needed to effectively run it. I can't think of a better way to overcome any uncertainty surrounding "what" you need to do. It's all mapped out and he'll walk you through every step to ensure you do it "right." But there might be something else holding you back, and THAT is what I'd like to address today … Because whether you choose this path or another one, as I mentioned earlier, fears could continue to get in your way. Let's tackle the "big three" first … 1. Are you afraid you'll be rejected? No one likes to be rejected. In fact, most of us can't stand it! 🙋 ♀️ But here's the thing … With millions of companies out there, you're going to come across loads of potential clients that YOU don't want to write for … It's not personal. They're just not a match for you — whether it be the topic, their style, the projects, or something else. And you may as well be picky … because with so much demand for ongoing content these days, you only need a handful of clients to make really good money as a writer. 2. Afraid you're not good enough? This one is important to get to the root of … and you should first determine whether it's something in your past that needs to be addressed, as Ted discussed in [this week's Monday's Morning Jumpstart]( … Or, a limiting belief with regard to your writing, ability to run a business, etc. Or, both! If it's something in your past that leaves you feeling "less than," naming it might be enough. But if not, talking to someone trained to help alleviate it might be the most important step you take right now with your writing business, while you're working on gaining the skills. Otherwise, the roadblock will remain. If it's confidence in your ability, the cure is to take more action. Every day that you spend time learning something new about copywriting, applying what you've learned, and ideally getting feedback like we provide in many of our programs, your confidence will grow. Will you ever feel perfectly ready? No. Eventually you'll have to take a big breath and take that first uncomfortable step forward. But with someone laying out each step like Russ does in his [Mentorship](, you'll have a plan to execute and a safety net. I also recommend you look for — and follow — people who are finding success. See what they're doing, ask questions, and follow them on their journey. One of the things I love most about Russ's training is that he starts EVERY class by asking the students to share their accomplishments for the week. As the chat fills with actions taken and stories … This in turn breeds more action from the fellow students, and each week we see the volume of actions taken grow from the week before — and the success stories come flooding in as a result. People will literally land clients WHILE doing the training! I know if you're facing "not good enough" feelings, it sounds counter-intuitive to be around people who are successful. But try it. Success breeds success. (It's why I celebrate a new member's success in every issue of this newsletter!) 😉 3. Afraid of failure? I hear this one a lot … in email, on social media, and in every single webinar I attend. Whether directly or indirectly, the message is about failure. You ARE going to fail. I've failed a lot and will continue to fail the longer I try. But you're also going to learn a lot from those failures. And every lesson learned will make you a better and more competent writer … to the point that you will one day be advising companies on what to do to ensure they don't make the mistakes you see them headed towards. Imagine that for a second … "Client, I know you want to do A, B, and C. But I'm highly recommending we change C slightly like this … to avoid this other issue you haven't yet considered." Your failures build your expertise. And you'll be able to leverage them in your business. Now if your fear is something else than the big 3, I want you to go through this exercise … - Write down the fear.
- Write down why you fear it.
- Write down what would make you feel better (be specific).
- Write down how you'll get it. (And if you don't know, ask us!). And then go to WAR with yourself (another one of my favorite lessons from our Chief Success Officer Ted Capshaw) … Ask yourself what's at risk if you do this? And what's at risk if you DON'T? The answer to the second one is staying exactly where you are. So, take your shot, {NAME} … Whether it's going through Russ's training and [getting Certified as a Content Specialist]( … or a taking different path to well-paid writing … You have nothing to lose, and the beautiful life you truly want, to gain. Will there be rough spots? Sure. The path to success isn't a straight line. But there will be lessons. There will be fun. There will be a quiet confidence that builds with every step you take. And there will be your AWAI community … To walk with you every step of the way. <3 I hope you have a great weekend, [Rebecca Matter’ s signature] Rebecca What's Hot at AWAI … 👉 LAST CHANCE: [Enrollment in Content Certification closes today!]( 🧐 [Content Writer or Content Strategist?]( 💰 Want to win $200?
