Do you know what it is? [The Writer’ s Life]( October 11, 2022 "Sometimes the hardest part of the journey is believing you're worthy of the trip." – Glenn Beck Writers are value-driven, profit producers. How great of a job description is that {NAME}?! We sit right alongside the marketers and sales reps, helping the companies we write for achieve their ultimate goal: profit. (Or in the case of a non-profit: donations!) No matter what you're writing on the [copy-content continuum](, your words help the marketing efforts that lead to sales. Yes, even if you're writing a blog post to answer a question frequently asked … Or a video script that teaches someone how to do something … Or a social media post to engage people … Your words are moving someone along the "[customer journey](," and again, ultimately leading to sales. The value you bring as a writer is an important thing to understand … Because the "dollar figure floating above your head" … aka the impact you can have on a business … is often higher than most other players in the company. And the best part? YOU are in full control of increasing that number. Not just through your writing … although there is a MASSIVE return on every dollar spent by a company on a writer. But also, through your ideas and identification of opportunities to improve things for their prospects and customers. And the best part about THAT!? Again, YOU are in control … You don't need someone to ASK you to present a new idea … or identify a "blindspot" a company has, that if improved, could lead to more engagements, leads, customers, and ultimately, more sales. You can do that any time you please. I hate the cliché, but that's why you'll often hear people say that "copywriters can write their own ticket." For example, let's say you want to [write for social media]( … You find a company who is active on one of the social platforms and hang around observing … maybe posting a few things to see what happens. If you spot areas for improvement, that's your IN! You don't need to wait for someone to ask you … The company is already investing in a marketing channel they believe can help them. By helping them make it better, you're giving them what they want! Same goes with blogs, newsletters, sales pages, videos, lead gen … anywhere readers are engaging with copy or content. We call this improving the "user experience" or UX — and tomorrow we're holding a FREE training to show you what it's all about, and the demand it's created for writers across all niches, and all writing specialties. Put simply, we'll show you how to walk in the shoes of someone's experience online … and look for ways to make it "better." [>> Access instructions and details are here.]( In the meantime, I have some homework for you! 😁 Between now and Wednesday at 12 p.m. ET, I want you to pay attention to your own experiences online … Note times when you feel confused … can't find something … are frustrated with how something is (or is not) working … basically anything that forces you to pause — or even abort — what you're doing. Those "stops" are all opportunities for an improved user experience. And they spell huge opportunity for you, the writer, to improve them and keep things moving. It's an EASY way to create mad value for your clients, boost that number over your head, and set yourself up for great income as a writer. Tomorrow, we're going to [show you how right here](. And who knows … Maybe one of the companies you identify with a bad user experience will become your first (or next!) client. See you tomorrow, [Rebecca Matter’ s signature] Rebecca P.S. Improving social media is a simple example, but I mentioned it above because it's often very easy to improve … Its function is to engage prospects, turn them into customers, and then turn those customers into advocates. Yet while companies know this … 9 out of 10 are unsatisfied with their results. Making it very easy for you to step in and take it over. The pay is great (upwards of $3,000 per month) and it leads to numerous other assignments … including the ones we'll discuss in tomorrow's webinar.
