Fear rejection, {NAME}?

Here’s what to do ... [The Writer’ s Life]( March 28, 2022 "We know what we are, but know not what we may be." – William Shakespeare Rejection on a Monday Morning?!? I know, {NAME} … But I was thinking we'd attack it head on, since the fear of rejection holds back many (MANY) writers from even trying. Interestingly, every human from the dawn of time has been programmed with this deep fear … Take it alllll the way back to pre-civilization. Imagine you're a hunter-gatherer. You're 100% dependent on your tribe — for food, for safety, for warmth … for your life. If you made a mistake … the tribe might excommunicate you. And that meant certain death. Again, pretty dark for a Monday morning … but stick with me … Because when you fast forward back to today … the "primal brain" still exists beneath our "modern brain" (the neocortex). That's why fear of rejection is such a powerful force. In [today's episode of]( [Monday Morning Jumpstart](, Success Coach Ted Capshaw gives his simple protocol for dealing with rejection. So you know how to handle it … whenever it happens. Not IF. But, you know, when. Because yes, the writer's life is super fulfilling … Getting paid to do what you truly love is a thrill like no other! The only way to grow those callouses is to earn them. ;) The funny thing is, the rejection itself often isn't that bad. The majority of the time, "rejection" is simply not hearing back from a potential client you reached out to. And when it happens, it's annoying — but you move on! It's the FEAR that holds us back … Because our minds spin up worst-case scenarios that make potential rejection feel 100 times worse than it probably ever will be. So how do you do the BIG STUFF you want to do with your life without getting held back? How do you keep learning … writing … and reaching out … In spite of that fear?
