It’s either the best tool ever… or the end of the world as we know it… June 20, 2024

It’s either the best tool ever… or the end of the world as we know it… June 20, 2024 [The Writer’ s Life]( "AI is neither good nor evil. It's a tool. It's a technology for us to use." — Oren Etzioni Hi {NAME}, When it comes to AI, writers seem to fall into one of two camps: - the "It's the end of the world" camp, OR - the "This is the best thing ever" camp. I think that subconsciously, the one camp … the end-of-the-world camp … is struggling with a fear of change. I 100% get it … I was in publishing when digital books hit the scene. It was the "end of book publishing forever!" But that experience taught me change is inevitable (as did the internet, social media, a global pandemic, the e-commerce boom, and more). Learning to ride waves, and adapt, is always the right answer. And by gathering more information, and learning more about what you're afraid of, you may realize you don't have anything to fear. (Unless, of course, you're searching for things that prove your fears. We've all experienced confirmation bias at some point, and savvy marketers sure know how to get us to click! 😉) One of the biggest fears writers seem to have about AI is that they will be replaced. But when you dig in to what AI does … and what it "writes" … you'll start to see it for what it really is: a really great tool for writers. And as Guillermo Rubio explains in today's featured article, AI opens up a lot of opportunities for you as a writer too. And, he gives you an overview of SIX ways you can leverage AI in your writing career. His detailed explanation and examples should go a long way toward putting your mind at ease — and excite you about the possibilities for using AI to your benefit moving forward. "G" (our nickname for him) was an early adopter of AI three years ago … So, it's probably no coincidence that he's one of our most prolific and fastest-producing writers (not to mention best paid!). We want you to have all the advantages of applying AI effectively in your business as well, so this month, the entire issue of [Barefoot Writer magazine]( is dedicated to helping you get the most from AI … including loads of stories of writers who are taking full advantage of the opportunity.
