Every writer should do this ⦠[The Writer’ s Life](
April 2, 2024 "Do your own thing on your own terms and get what you came here for."
– Oliver James Hi {NAME}, Getting paid to write is an immense thrill. There's such a great sense of validation when a client says: "This is exactly what we were looking for. Let us pay you to do more." 🤩 Helping build your client's business with your words is a satisfying way to make a living with your writing. But you know what's even better?? 👉 Doing it for yourself. Today, I want to talk about how you can build a scalable business that allows you to make great money writing, regardless of the hours you "work." Now, if "creating a business" sounds like a big undertaking — it's really not … Assuming you know what you want to write about, the actual business is something you can set up in a matter of days. From there it's simply growing it a little each day … adding content, building your list, and increasing the ways you make money. We recently helped a group get up and going through [The AWAI Model for Building a Thriving "Zero-Client" Writing Business](. It's just a matter of growing slowly, month after month, year after year. (And we covered LOTS of ways to do just that!) It all starts with picking an audience … and identifying the problems you're solving for them. So, what should YOU write about? I'll help you get started brainstorming in a minute. But first, here's why I love this opportunity so much … - You don't need any clients to make money as a writer — and you keep ALL of the profits for yourself.
- It's completely flexible. You can do it in as little as five hours a week … or you can spend more time working on it and achieve your revenue goals faster.
- You're creating an asset that can be sold. When you're ready to take a payout, you can sell what you've built and end with a nice bonus. And best of all … - YOU choose the topic you'll write about. You will need to do a little research to make sure you pick something that draws an audience to your business. But if you choose something that you love … something you're truly enthusiastic to learn and write about … you will be successful. [Holly Hanna]( writes about work-at-home opportunities … [Andrew Murray]( writes about the Australian Outback … Russ Henneberry writes about digital marketing … And they all make money, without a single client. So, how about you, {NAME}? If you could get paid to write about anything in the world … What would it be? Don't worry if it's already "being done" … YOUR ideas and words will be different. And the truth is, you don't need a huge audience to make really good money. In the [first session of the "Zero-Client" training](, I walked the group through what it takes to make $5,000 a month (their first goal). The numbers were shocking — in a good way … How few members you would need to make $5,000/month from a membership site … or how many units of a program you'd need to sell at various price points … or how little effort it would take to reach the goal through advertising. What if you did all three? Then it would be even easier to hit that first goal … And those are only three of SEVEN revenue streams! So what are some things you know that you'd love to write about? Who is an audience that you understand and would love to help? Or who is already in your circle that could help boost you forward? For example, I know a lot of teachers … so building a business aimed at helping teachers would be easier, because I have people who can give me the inside scoop! Interestingly, you could also find clients within that niche who need writers and would gladly pay you to write about it. 😉 Your business serves as the ideal sample of your writing — and sets you up as a colleague in the industry. But that's a conversation for another issue. 😎 And there's certainly nothing wrong with simply clocking your five hours and calling it a week! So, spend some time brainstorming a list of things you'd enjoy writing about. I mean REALLY enjoy … Like "jump-out-of-bed-and-run-to-your-laptop-because-your-head-is-bursting-with-enthusiasm-and-ideas" enjoy. And if you'd like help building a business around it, [let us help you](! Along with helping you find your *perfect* topic, we'll help you make sure it's profitable … and then help you properly set up your business to make the money you want to make from it. But whether you decide to stick to clients for now … or take this chance to build a super zero-client income for yourself … I hope you'll continue to chase what you love. After all, that's why we're here. Copywriting is one of the most financially valuable skills you can have. And if you do it right … one of the most fulfilling, too.
