The group also discussed recent topics related to Education, Customer Care and Professional Services. The Council was happy with the progress made around licensing. The discussions of most interest regarded e-learning, support team performance, and the new Cloud community. The next meeting will be held on October 25th and will focus specifically on Customer Care. Video Sub Committee (September 15): Had a lengthy discussion on Conform /Finishing workflows and current needs for Media Composer. Some steps have already been taken to improve Conform, and there are additional initiatives on the proposed roadmap for 2018 that will greatly help! Avid will continually look to the ACA to help determine what more needs to be done here - particularly when it comes to deciding if there is a need to productize "Conform" in Media Composer and/or how far to take those toolsets. The biggest/most popular request within the group was to update Multicam Editing - particularly being able to add/remove clips from groups and mix clips with different formats and frame rates in the same group. ACA Members were most excited about the new Title Tool in Media Composer and the possibility of updating Multicam in Media Composer. A follow-up meeting is being scheduled to expand the discussion around Conform for Media Composer. Technology Advisory Council (September 15): Were shown a demo of the Developer Toolkit, discussed new APIs in MediaCentral, topics related to Cloud UX, and Avid's new approach for licensing and certification. ACA leaders were all very impressed with this new approach and look forward to having access to these toolkits and toolchain. In follow-up, Avid will be pulling in two developers to accelerate the toolkit development and add licensing/ certification. The next Technology Advisory Council meeting will be held in early December and will focus on virtualization/cloud, risk-free deployment, and Security. [Sept-Newsletter_4.jpg]( ACA Leaders meet for a networking reception during IBC Strategy Advisory Council (September 15): Had a robust crowd in the room and had a number of discussions on the future of the industry and what Avid can do to help. Some of the topics discussed included: How to automate multiplatform requirements as much as possible, especially as everyone is looking for a single workflow; The role of news and role responsibility shifts as more; How cognitive services can create efficiencies; The need for new business models for both OTT and broadcasters as the industry continues to change; The intersection of new types of storytelling with traditional types of storytelling and how to best patch together these models in the middle. With such a wide swath of subjects covered, the group looks forward to continuing to evolve the conversation and ensuing outcomes from Avid. Graphics Sub Committee (September 15): With Avid’s exciting IBC announcements of the launch of the [Maestro family]( of solutions that unifies the graphics portfolio and deepens the integration to MediaCentral, there was much to talk about for the Graphics Sub Committee . With a number of organizations in the EMEA region in attendance, the group represented a variety of uses of Avid’s graphics solutions – all aimed at creating exceptional viewer engagement. Some of the more prominent topics were extending data integrations into Maestro, the uniqueness of sports/athletic events and key features that are needed for this area, and how the ACA can assist with bringing customers together more deeply with similar challenges and forward leading uses of Avid’s product lineup. Products & Solutions Advisory Council (September 27): While Sub Committee meetings are regularly occurring on a more frequent basis, the entire Products & Solutions Advisory Council met on September 27th via conference call for their quarterly all-hands meeting (with all leaders from all sub committees ). For this broader meeting, there were a number of updates on the ACA Program overall (including growth, recent bylaw amendments), an overview of recent announcements that were driven by this group, the updated ACA Vote read out, the upcoming second annual ACA vote, and overall communications for the group (it was agreed that calls are the most valuable). Some of the more general product discussions that were had included new asset management models, trials and testing in cloud models, MAM workflows, editorial management coming in Q4, the need for client review options in Media Composer and Pro Tools, and the Media Central Panel. There was excitement shared for the upcoming Audio Sub Committee Meeting at AES in New York, NY in October.
