[What's On Tonight: Do you believe in life after Westworld?]
Dec 04, 2016 12:00 am
Hereâs whatâs up in the world of TV for Sunday, December 4. All times are Eastern.
Top picks
[Once Upon A Time] (ABC, 8 p.m.): Once Upon A Time is using its sixth-season fall finale to send you all the message âWish You Were Here.â Who, specifically? Letâs really break this one down, shall we? âWhen she learns that our heroes possess a weapon capable of defeating her, the Evil Queen steals Aladdinâs magic lamp from Jasmine and makes a wish that could sideline the Savior forever.â It might be safe to assume the episode title has something to do with this plot, but Gwen Ihnatâs discussion post should be able to tell one way or another.
Also: On a scale of one to Cuckooâs Nest, how insane is this episode synopsis to people who donât watch this show?
Dinner At Tiffaniâs (Cooking Channel, 8 p.m.): Itâs âChristmas At Tiffaniâsâ in this âspecial presentation.â And besides the Christmas aspect of it all, what makes this so special? Kelly Kapowsi and Zack Morris reunite! Yes, Mark-Paul Gosselaar is having Dinner At Tiffaniâsâand so are Tiffani Thiessenâs [White Collar] husband Tim DeKay and her Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Jason Priestley. As usual, no word yet on whether or not [Bill Bellamy] will show up.
[Westworld] (HBO, 9 p.m.): Westworldâs first season is coming to an end, so after this, you wonât have weekly episodes to use as an excuse for your most recent theories and questions about the show. Because we know you have so many theories and questions. This 90-minute season finale, âThe Bicameral Mind,â supposedly has the answers to said theories and questions, but the episode synopsis keeps it all just vague enough: âFord unveils his bold new narrative; Dolores embraces her identity; Maeve sets her plan in motion.â Zack Handlen may not have all the answers right now, but weâre sure heâll do his best in his review.
Premieres and finales
Killer Whales: The Mega Hunt (Animal Planet, 6 p.m.): âFive thousand dolphins are for dinner in this never-before-seen feeding frenzy.â Well. Thatâs horrifying. Good thing itâs on early, so you donât end your Sunday with this nightmare fuel.
Looks Like Christmas (Hallmark Channel, 8 p.m.)/Hearts Of Christmas (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, 9 p.m.): On one Hallmark network, youâve got Anne Heche and Dylan Neal. On the other, itâs Emilie Ullerup, Sharon Lawrence, and Kristoffer Polaha. Only one of these actors was in an episode of television titled [âWhat Are You Doing Here, Ho-Bag?â] There you go.
[Secrets And Lies] (ABC, 9/10 p.m.): Secrets And Lies ends its second season with two back-to-back episodes and the promise that Kate Warnerâs killer will be revealed. But letâs be real, there are still bound to be quite a few secrets and/or lies, even though the final episode is titled âThe Truth.â
Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown (CNN, 9 p.m.): The eighth season of Parts Unknown ends with one of the more obscure places in the world: Rome. You probably havenât heard of it.
Mariahâs World (E!/Bravo, 9 p.m.): Mariah Carey has a reality show. What more is needed? Some seasonal cheer? Fine:
United Shades Of America (CNN, 10 p.m.): United Shades Of America ends its first season the only way any show should end its first season: with W. Kamau Bell on the hunt for âThe Fountain Of Youth.â
[The Royals] (E!, 10 p.m.): Queen Elizabeth Hurley is back with the third-season premiere of The Royals. Continuing where the second season ended, âPrince Robert is revealed to be alive, but whether he is well is still to be determined.â Dun-dun-dun!
Pearl Harbor: The Truth (History Channel, 10 p.m.): The âtruthâ about Pearl Harbor? What do we need this for? We have [Michael Bay]. We suppose thatâs the hook for this: See what the so-called History Channel can possibly teach you that canât be learned in a Ben Affleck-Josh Hartnett blockbuster.
Hot Streets/Apollo Gauntlet/Bad Guys (Adult Swim, 10:30/10:45/11 p.m.): Here, have some Adult Swim backdoor (hehe) pilots. And yes, theyâre [all shows from male creators]. Brian Wysolâs Hot Streets promises âalien invasions, government conspiracies, monster infestations, and moreâ; Myles Langloisâ Apollo Gauntlet finds an Earth cop âtrapped in another world⦠[where he] can finally fight crime the way he wants after acquiring talking magical gauntletsâ; and Paul Scheer and Nick Giovannettiâs Bad Guys calls itself an âanimated series about a bombastic, megalomaniac terrorist and his upstart terrorist organization; and their quest for global domination.â
