Hello {NAME}, Have you ever watched a masterclass or webinar about audio production where you didn't feel like you really learned anything? Just because someone has a lot of experience DOING something doesn't mean they will be good at TEACHING that thing to someone else. There's more to being a great teacher than just having lots of experience... When I studied audio production in college, one of the biggest benefits was that I had the opportunity to learn from great teachers. My professors and mentors not only had a lot of experience as professionals in the audio industry, but they were also really good at boiling down the information in a way that I could actually understand. Ever since I started Audio University, I've strived to become like my favorite teachers. And I'm happy to say that I often receive comments like this... I've also had mentors who couldn't really explain things very well (even though they had lots of experience mixing, recording, and troubleshooting). Nothing against these people - they are true professionals and are extremely talented. But it can be frustrating to learn from someone like that. That's why I'm launching the [Audio University Membership]() - to give you access to some of the best audio teachers in the world! Throughout my career, I've met professors who teach audio production at various universities. And many of them have agreed to join me in the Audio University community so you can learn from university-level instructors for a fraction of the cost! Right now you've got the chance to become a founding member of Audio University. You can learn more here: [() The teachers at Audio University have taught hundreds of students throughout their careers. That means... - They know how to teach in a way that is easily digestible for people at various levels. - They know how to structure demonstrations and exercises to help students learn. - They've probably already heard your questions before from other students in the past (and they've spent decades crafting answers to those questions that are actually helpful). On June 4th, we are kicking off the first training series, Mixing Essentials w/ Prof. Gabe Herman. Professor Herman is an Associate Professor of Music Production and Technology at the University of Hartford. He has been a freelance audio engineer for almost 25 years and has taught audio for nearly two decades! He is one of the best educators I've ever met, and I'm very excited to have him as the inaugural instructor on our new platform. In the first installment of the Mixing Essentials Series, Professor Herman will be teaching about EQ. This members-only training will happen on June 4th at 12pm noon (Eastern Time). If you're able to join live, you'll have the opportunity to ask Professor Herman questions during the Q&A session. But if you can't join live, that's ok. A recording of the training session will be available to watch on-demand whenever you have time. As you practice applying the theory, you can ask questions in the community forum, where Professor Herman and other community members will offer their support. I can't express how important these four elements are to your success: Theory, Practice, Feedback, and Community - Theory without practice ➡️ You'll never really understand how to apply the theory. - Practice without theory ➡️ You'll be lost when the gear isn't working as expected. - Practice without feedback ➡️ You risk building bad habits that will be difficult to break later. - Theory, practice, and feedback without community ➡️ You'll slow down your growth and limit your opportunities in the future. If you become an Audio University member, you will get access to all of these things. But you need to act quickly, because the membership doors are only open for a limited time. Sign up before June 3rd at midnight (Eastern Time) to become a founding member of the Class of 2024!
