Nearly all asset classes are positive since the open of 2023, except for several commodity classes like health care, utilities, China, the yen and interestingly enough… the DJIA dividend fund iShares Select Dividend ETF (Nasdaq: DVY). Nearly all asset classes were positive on Tuesday except for specific currencies, consumer staples, utilities and a handful of global markets including China. If you follow my work, you know I’ve written often about being bullish since I called the market bottom back in October 2022. I’m not so optimistic about the next three to four months, however... Based on my approach, I believe the third quarter might elate both bulls and bears. In other words, I think it will be challenging and volatile for traders. I see plenty of surprises for all, with plenty of opportunity for the savvy. One way to avoid emotional trading for those who might get caught flat-footed is to keep tabs on prices in the way I just detailed. Specifically, keep an eye on the year open, July open and week open for the rest of the year. Use the ETFs listed in the chart above to track.
