While the S&P enjoys a strong start to the year so far, these two foundational sectors struggle. XLP continues to trade below its Year Open while XLI tested it once and bounced. Maybe that’s because some professional accumulation has stepped into XLI and its stocks, like Honeywell (HON). On the chart above, gray candles represent the SPY and colored candles represent XLI.
