[Click Here To Watch Now!]() [image] My pivot number today on the ES (S&P 500 futures) is 3805. Resistance is up at 3845 and support at 3775. Yesterday the ES finished on the high side of the daily range, going up to 3822. If the ES breaks down below support of 3775 then my next number down will be 3745. We are seeing what I call the beginning of the tape painting stage and we’re going to have a special report focused on the midterms to be released later this week. In the chart above, Box 1 represents Friday’s close on a 30-minute S&P futures chart. Box 2 is Sunday night’s open. Box 3 gives Europe’s perspective. Box 4 and 5 show the early US adjustment while Box 6 shows the sentiment at Monday’s close. The short-term path points upward. But it will be volatile. KMB (Kimberly Clark) hit my scan yesterday and had positive earnings reactions this morning. [image] [image]() The winds have shifted on U.S. stock markets. The tailwinds that took the S&P 500 to its second highest price-to-earnings multiple in 150 years have turned into headwinds. Tighter money means less consumption and negative earnings growth. Higher interest rates mean every dollar of future earnings is worth less today. And less price stability resulting from high inflation makes the real value of those earnings less certain. These tailwinds alone would be enough to put equities in a deep bear market. Add in unprecedented geopolitical turmoil and that same bear market easily pencils out into full blown collapse.
