[View this email in your browser]( Michael’s Monday Motivation What will you do if you don't get another chance to tell someone how much you love them? It's a reflection that I sits with me as this past Sunday was the 11th anniversary of my Daddy "The General" Headly George Blake becoming an Ancestor. I recall getting the call from my Sister of him being rushed to the hospital & that same Sister letting me know that he went to be with The Lord. I won't forget those words. Equally, I remember how that last week, Daddy and I text but didn't talk on the phone. Of course, I wish I could have another conversation with him, the proud Jamaican man! As we celebrate Labor Day (Daddy was an 1199SEIU member) and loved his Wray & Nephew rum with milk as a man from Papine in JA, I will gladly wave the Black, Gold and Green in the honor of all from the Land We Love. Life is a continual Labor of Love & Happiness. Make sure to not miss any opportunities to tell people you love that you love them. It's not hard to say it. It's harder when you can't say it anymore. 2024 West Indian Day Parade with Local 372 of DC37 Today, we celebrate the rich history and vibrant culture of the West Indian American & Labor communities as we reflect on the joy and unity shared during the West Indian American Day Parade.
