Statement from Former DNC Vice Chair and NY Assemblymember Michael Blake on Vice Presidential Nomine

[View this email in your browser]( Statement from Former DNC Vice Chair and NY Assemblymember Michael Blake on Vice Presidential Nominee Tim Walz’s 2024 DNC Remarks: Tonight, before our entire nation, Governor Tim Walz made clear why he would make such an excellent Vice President and partner to Kamala Harris. After a lifetime of learning, teaching, and service, and putting in the work, he was so rightly elevated.  But no matter how high Governor Walz has risen, he has never forgotten the values he learned on the family farm. That is why he has always fought for working families, cutting taxes, capping insulin costs, and codifying a woman’s freedom to choose into law. He has done all that and more with the same authentic joy and compassion that we just saw.  What a stark contrast from Republican Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance. Both Midwesterners with humble beginnings, and yet such differing paths and visions for our nation. Walz dedicated his life to serving our country for 24 years in the National Guard and 20 years as a teacher and football coach before being elected to Congress six times. Vance, on the other hand, worked as a venture capitalist backed by Silicon Valley billionaires before entering Congress.  As Governor, Walz has led with compassion and a willingness to compromise to get the job done – but without ever compromising on his values. Vance, on the other hand, hurls insults and turns his back on his friends and beliefs in the pursuit of power.  I may be from the Bronx, but this November, I’m proud to ride for Minnesota. From the heartland of America to a heartbeat away from becoming Commander-in-chief, Governor Walz is who our nation needs as Vice President. Together with Kamala Harris, they will protect our freedoms and expand opportunity for working families. [Facebook icon]( [Instagram icon]( [Website icon]( [LinkedIn icon]( [YouTube icon]( [X icon]( Copyright (C) 2024 Atlas Strategy Group.
