In a ruling that defies logic and public safety, the Supreme Court of the United States has decided

[View this email in your browser]( In a ruling that defies logic and public safety, the Supreme Court of the United States has decided to permit the sale and use of bump stocks, devices that effectively turn semi-automatic firearms into fully automatic weapons. This decision is not just a setback; it is an outrage. Let me be clear. The Supreme Court decision of saying that adding a bump stock to an AR-15 doesn't make a gun a machine gun will lead to more people dying from mass shootings. Gun violence continues to plague our nation, with devastating mass shootings becoming alarmingly frequent. The horrific tragedies at Las Vegas, Orlando, Sandy Hook, and too many other locations have shown us the catastrophic impact of such devices. This ruling undermines efforts to curb gun violence and protect our communities. It ignores the pleas of survivors, families, and advocates who have fought tirelessly for sensible gun control measures. As we face this troubling decision, it is more important than ever to recognize the power of our vote. The upcoming elections will shape the future of our country and determine whether we continue down this dangerous path or choose leaders committed to enacting responsible gun legislation. Be very clear that elections have consequences. Who you elect for President decides who nominates Supreme Court Justices! Who you elect to the United States Senate will vote on those nominations! The Supreme Court’s decision should truly wake up the country to understand that we must vote like our lives depend on it...because they do!
