[View this email in your browser]( New York Reception in support of Josh Stein, Democrat running for Governor Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 | 5:30PM Our opportunity to support North Carolina turning blue - directly from Josh on April 24. If you are able to do so, please join us! [RSVP]( Josh Stein: Always putting the people of North Carolina first Attorney General Josh Stein learned early on that some things are worth fighting for, no matter the opposition. His parents grounded him in our shared values of freedom, justice, and opportunity for everyone, and his faith teaches him that we are all children of God and we are called to make a difference. That’s why, as North Carolina’s Attorney General and as a state Senator before, Josh has taken on powerful special interests to protect families. Josh and his team have worked hard to keep families safe, hold corporate wrongdoers accountable for the damage they’ve done, make polluters pay to clean up the messes they make, and defend your reproductive and voting rights. Josh grew up in Chapel Hill and Charlotte and is a graduate of Harvard Law School, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and Dartmouth College. He and his wife Anna live in Raleigh, are members of Temple Beth Or, and have three children who all attended North Carolina public schools, just like they did. Josh enjoys biking, watching college sports and the Carolina Hurricanes, and (in his younger days) playing soccer. Josh Stein Accomplishments Secured more than $50 billion nationally to bring much-needed opioid addiction treatment and recovery services to people across North Carolina Tackled the largest backlog of untested rape kits in the country, bringing justice to victims and putting rapists behind bars Defended women’s access to reproductive health care, children’s right to a sound public education, and people’s access to health care under the Affordable Care Act Held e-cigarette manufacturer Juul accountable for sparking a teen vaping epidemic – winning $40 million to help kids conquer their addiction to nicotine Helped to negotiate the largest coal ash clean up in the history of the country and then won a more than $1.1 billion settlement from Duke Energy about paying for that clean up Took DuPont and Chemours to court for polluting the Cape Fear River with toxic forever chemicals because polluters should pay to clean up the messes they make Josh Stein’s Opponent [In Newly Reported Comments, Mark Robinson Disrespects Black Women & Sexual Assault Survivors, Calls Himself A “Chauvinist Pig”]( [Effective vs. Extreme: #NCGOV Week In Review]( May 1 Marina Jenkins National Redistricting Committee May 8 Sam Cornale Democratic National Committee Save the Dates April 26 KAIROS@African American Mayors Association Atlanta, GA[Register here]( April 25-May 5 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival New Orleans, LA[Read more]( Date TBD (Likely late April or May)[Du Bois Freedom Center]( Event With Special Guest TBA KAIROS "a time when conditions are right for the accomplishment of a crucial action : the opportune and decisive MOMENT" "The right or critical MOMENT" [Facebook icon]( [Instagram icon]( [Website icon]( [YouTube icon]( [LinkedIn icon]( Copyright (C) 2024 Atlas Strategy Group.
