I was just sworn in to Congress as Michigan’s first ever Indian American Representative. [Representative Shri Thanedar (MI-13)]( Representative Shri Thanedar (MI-13) {NAME}, I’m humbled and honored to share this news with you: [I was just sworn in to Congress as Michigan’s first ever Indian American Representative. I’m ready to fight for working families and uplift AAPI voices in Washington. But we need more representation in Congress. ASPIRE is on the frontlines of the fight to elect more diverse Democrats and they need our support now more than ever. Will you chip in $15 right now to help ASPIRE close their budget gap? >>]( I never imagined running for Congress, {NAME}. I grew up in poverty in India where sometimes our house lacked running water and electricity. At 24 years old, I came to America in search of opportunity and a better life with just $20 in my pocket. Through a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck, I earned an MBA and a PhD in Chemistry. For over 25 years, I built small businesses and created more than 500 well-paying jobs that helped families succeed. [Now, I’m starting my first term in Congress as Michigan’s FIRST ever Indian American Representative.]( [Shri at his swearing in]( Shri at his swearing in I was able to come to America and achieve the American Dream. But today, that dream is simply not possible for far too many in our country. [That’s why it’s so crucial that we elect more AAPI leaders to Congress and ensure people with stories like mine are represented, {NAME}.]( [I’m proudly standing with ASPIRE to support their critical work to elect more AAPI candidates who will ensure folks like me can achieve the American Dream. But we need your help, {NAME}. Can I count on you to pitch in $15 to help us DEFEAT Republican hatred, FLIP the House for Democrats, and DEFEND the Senate Majority? If 801 supporters step up in the next 48 hours we’ll close our budget gap and reach our goal before our End of Week Deadline. >>]( ASPIRE’s work is ESSENTIAL to taking back the House Majority: Asian American voters made all the difference in the midterms and helped sabotage Republicans’ red wave. Experts revealed that in battleground states Asian American voter turnout rose by 33% – that’s HUGE. But we can’t stop there, {NAME}. We only need to flip FIVE seats to take back the House and AAPI voters will be KEY to our victory. [With Republicans already amassing millions for the next election, we can’t afford to fall behind.]( [Here’s the plan, {NAME}: ASPIRE needs to raise 801 gifts before their End of Week Deadline in order to hit the ground running earlier than EVER and fully fund their campaign to elect diverse Democrats. Will you rush $15 right now? After the critical investments ASPIRE made in the midterm elections, your support has never been more impactful. >>]( [DONATE NOW: $15]( [DONATE NOW: $25]( [DONATE NOW: $50]( [DONATE NOW: $100]( [DONATE NOW: $250]( [OTHER AMOUNT]( Thank you, Shri [Follow us on Twitter!]( [Like our page on Facebook!]( [Visit our website!]( Now more than ever, it is absolutely essential that we elect more diverse candidates.
