{NAME} -- Georgia Republicans just passed one of the most abhorrent voter suppression laws since Jim Crow. Governor Brian Kemp just signed into law a bill that, among other things, makes it illegal to give food and water to voters waiting in line for the polls. This is a blatant attempt at keeping voters from the polls, will have a disproportionate impact on polling places in Black neighborhoods that already suffer from egregiously long lines, and will help Republicans win back this battleground state. In 2020, we flipped Georgia blue because tens of thousands of voters were willing to wait in hours-long lines to cast their ballots. Lawmakers should fix the broken voting system that created those lines in the first place -- not use it as an opportunity to create an even higher barrier to voting. {NAME}, we can't allow this to be the new normal. Republicans think they can rig elections with their Jim Crow-style voter suppression laws -- but we're not going to let them get away with it. We're working around the clock to replace these scheming Republican lawmakers with strong progressives who will fight to rebuild our democracy -- not break it down. But with these new developments from the GOP, it's going to be harder than ever. [If we want to win in 2022, we have to start now because Republicans aren't wasting any time. That's why today we've set an ambitious goal of raising $2,500 to launch our anti-voter suppression efforts in Georgia. Can you chip in ASAP to help us meet our goal?](/Y9PXFEqcWe7FSpE0SzriFF5gRbn9g4kcOBQ-0stlmqQ=?refcode=ASP_20210402_GEN_FDR_A) If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [DONATE $10](/Y9PXFEqcWe7FSpE0SzriFF5gRbn9g4kcOBQ-0stlmqQ=?refcode=ASP_20210402_GEN_FDR_A&express_lane=true&amount=10) [DONATE $25](/Y9PXFEqcWe7FSpE0SzriFF5gRbn9g4kcOBQ-0stlmqQ=?refcode=ASP_20210402_GEN_FDR_A&express_lane=true&amount=25) [DONATE $50](/Y9PXFEqcWe7FSpE0SzriFF5gRbn9g4kcOBQ-0stlmqQ=?refcode=ASP_20210402_GEN_FDR_A&express_lane=true&amount=50) [DONATE $100](/Y9PXFEqcWe7FSpE0SzriFF5gRbn9g4kcOBQ-0stlmqQ=?refcode=ASP_20210402_GEN_FDR_A&express_lane=true&amount=100) [DONATE $500](/Y9PXFEqcWe7FSpE0SzriFF5gRbn9g4kcOBQ-0stlmqQ=?refcode=ASP_20210402_GEN_FDR_A&express_lane=true&amount=500) [DONATE OTHER](/Y9PXFEqcWe7FSpE0SzriFF5gRbn9g4kcOBQ-0stlmqQ=?refcode=ASP_20210402_GEN_FDR_A) We can out-match Republicans and their voter suppression tactics like we did in 2022, but it's going to take all of us working together.
