{NAME}, George Takei, the “Star Trek” actor turned civil rights activist, recently reflected on his days spent in a Japanese internment camp: “Asian American hate is as old as American history and overnight, this country was swept up by suspicion and fear and naked, outright hatred. We had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor. There was no charge. Other than looking like this.” History is repeating itself. After seven months of Trump and the GOP fueling fears of the “China Virus'' and the “Kung-Flu,” 1 in 4 Asian Americans now report having experienced anti-Asian hate. After President Trump first tweeted his racist rebranding of COVID-19, there was an 800 percent increase in AAPI bias among conservative media outlets alone. Democrats are united in the fight against rampant AAPI hate attacks, condemning this racism tied to the pandemic in a September House vote. But the GOP overwhelmingly rejected this measure -- claiming it was “woke culture on steroids.” They know this fear will drive their base to the polls. And that’s why they’ll continue to condone this hate. If they win again, it will only validate their desire to ramp up the hate. We can stop these racists. But we need your help. [Right now, we don’t have the funds we need to elect Democrats who will fight against hate and anti-AAPI racism in this country. And with the election just days away, the clock is ticking. PLEASE, if you’re able, give what you can now to fight the case and stop this country from repeating history.](/kXYRaRDQyfhVRJiEMTw9uKvqZ9c8olAHLqyzUwesCV4=?refcode=ASP_20201024_GEN_FDR_A) If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [DONATE $10](/kXYRaRDQyfhVRJiEMTw9uKvqZ9c8olAHLqyzUwesCV4=?refcode=ASP_20201024_GEN_FDR_A&express_lane=true&amount=10) [DONATE $25](/kXYRaRDQyfhVRJiEMTw9uKvqZ9c8olAHLqyzUwesCV4=?refcode=ASP_20201024_GEN_FDR_A&express_lane=true&amount=25) [DONATE $50](/kXYRaRDQyfhVRJiEMTw9uKvqZ9c8olAHLqyzUwesCV4=?refcode=ASP_20201024_GEN_FDR_A&express_lane=true&amount=50) [DONATE $100](/kXYRaRDQyfhVRJiEMTw9uKvqZ9c8olAHLqyzUwesCV4=?refcode=ASP_20201024_GEN_FDR_A&express_lane=true&amount=100) [DONATE $500](/kXYRaRDQyfhVRJiEMTw9uKvqZ9c8olAHLqyzUwesCV4=?refcode=ASP_20201024_GEN_FDR_A&express_lane=true&amount=500) [DONATE OTHER](/kXYRaRDQyfhVRJiEMTw9uKvqZ9c8olAHLqyzUwesCV4=?refcode=ASP_20201024_GEN_FDR_A) Thank you for standing with us.
