My name is Amish Shah, and I am an Emergency Physician in Phoenix, Arizona. For the past five years, I've had the privilege of serving in the Arizona House of Representatives. [Today, I have the distinct honor of being the Democratic nominee in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District, one of the top pick-up opportunities for Democrats in the entire country.]( I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and tell you why this race matters, [but if you don’t have time to spare, can you chip in a $10 gift to me and ASPIRE to help me flip AZ-01 — and the House — blue?]( My parents are Indian immigrants who came to America seeking a better life as engineering students. I was raised in an environment where education was revered as the cornerstone of success. I went to medical school to become a physician, ran for local office (and won), and I have dedicated my life to service ever since. I am very proud to have: - Fought (and defeated) one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the State House and worked to preserve access to mifepristone - Taken on an incumbent to win a seat in the State House — where I’ve passed more bills than any Arizona Democrat in a decade - Personally knocked on over 21,000 doors to engage voters and listen to their concerns - Swore off corporate PAC money Now as the nominee, I am committed to running a campaign that focuses on listening to, caring about, and fighting for the people of Arizona. As an emergency room physician and a legislator, I have seen firsthand the need for congressional leadership focused on reproductive justice, a fair economy, and protecting our democracy. My Republican opponent - Rep. David Schweikert has supported abortion bans, celebrated the fall of Roe v. Wade, and spent weeks denying the 2020 presidential election results before joining his extremist colleagues and voting against certifying the election. Quite simply, he is out of step with the voters in this district. The good news is that Schweikert is vulnerable, and we are in a strong position to flip this seat. Last cycle he won by 3,195 votes (just 0.8%). The Cook Political Report has already rated my district as a “toss-up” this year — but I can’t win this race without your help. [Will you split a $10 contribution between ASPIRE and my General Election Fund TODAY so we can hit the ground running to flip this seat BLUE in November?]( [Chip in $10 now >>]( [Chip in $25 now >>]( [Chip in $50 now >>]( [Chip in $100 now >>]( [Chip in another amount now >>]( We are in this together — and we are going to win. Respectfully, Amish Shah, MD, MPH [Follow us on Twitter!]( [Like our page on Facebook!]( [Visit our website!]( Now more than ever, it is absolutely essential that we elect more diverse candidates. ASPIRE is fighting to do just that: elect more Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) to office. We need all the help we can get to empower our communities and elect more diverse candidates. [DONATE]( We can't tell you how much we appreciate your grassroots support! If you want to stay updated but receive fewer emails, [please let us know here.]( [We don’t want to lose you completely -- but if you want to unsubscribe, you can do so here.]( ASPIRE PAC 910 17th St NW Ste 925 Washington, DC 20006-2641 United States info@aspirepac.org [www.aspirepac.org]( Paid for and authorized by ASPIRE PAC.
