Investigation uncovers more than 160 dogs kept in appalling conditions at a commercial breeding facility. Stand up for innocent animals today! [Puppy Mill Investigation Underway]( [Donate]( [Stand Up for Helpless Animals]( The situation we're seeing is heartbreaking. The ASPCA is on the ground in Worth County, IA, where investigators found more than 160 dogs and puppies living in filth in a puppy mill—without adequate food, water or shelter. Many of the dogs were housed in makeshift kennels in below freezing temperatures. We saw frightened moms huddled with their puppies. Some dogs cowered in fear, exhibiting signs of neglect; others appeared to suffer from untreated medical issues. [Donate]( At the request of the Worth County Sheriff's office, we are assisting with evidence collection, rescue and sheltering of the dogs and puppies, all Samoyeds, from this horrific large-scale breeding operation. [For animals like these, your support can be a lifeline. [Please offer your support as we fight to end animal abuse in all its forms and rescue innocent victims.]( The ASPCA is transporting the animals to a temporary shelter where they will receive ongoing care, as we continue to aid in the investigation. Once medical exams are conducted, behavior experts with the ASPCA Anti-Cruelty Behavior team will evaluate each dog and implement enrichment protocols.
