But a new survey highlights two areas where they say they could use more help. 1. Access to clinicians. Fewer than half of caregivers surveyed said they actually interact with doctors. 2. Almost half of caregivers said they were never asked about needing help tending to the person under their care, while about 20% said they were always asked. Perishable Publications Many, if not most, published research papers have titles that defy comprehension. They use specialized jargon, complex words and opaque phrases like "nonlinear dynamics." Sometimes they don't, and yet they're still hard to figure out. Here's an actual title of actual published research study: "The effect of acute increase in urge to void on cognitive function in healthy adults." Australian researchers asked healthy volunteers to consume a couple of glasses of water every 15 minutes until they could no longer ignore the call of nature. During this time, they were regularly tested on cognitive skills. Not surprisingly, as the urge to urinate grew ever more pressing, the participants' cognitive function, primarily attentional and working memory, declined proportionately.
