Yesterday, I showed you how an FDA approval can cause a biotech’s share price to skyrocket. But get this: There are literally dozens of opportunities to profit off a drug even before it gets that gold seal of approval from the FDA. You see, FDA approval is only the final stage in a long, multiyear process of drug development. Before it goes to market, a drug has to successfully pass through everything from preclinical animal testing to Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 human trials. I call each of these steps “catalyst events.” Because if a company’s drug makes it through one of these events, it gets one step closer to final approval... Which means each step can be a powerful “catalyst” for an increase in share price. And if you’ve positioned yourself in the trade before that price rise... Well, a trader stands to make some significant money.
