{NAME}, I wanted to make sure you saw my note about Social Security and Medicare. I've seen firsthand how these programs are helping people, especially since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act. I was honored to be joined at President Biden's State of the Union address last evening by Marta Nelson from Southampton, New Jersey. Marta used to pay hundreds of dollars for her insulin every month – even with Medicare. Because of the Inflation Reduction Act, her insulin is capped at $35 a month, saving her and so many like her thousands of dollars every year. Now, as President Biden said last night, we've got to get the job done and cap insulin at $35 for every American. As we take this week to reflect on the state of our union, I hope we can use the time to come together and support policies like this one that are quickly and effectively improving the lives of seniors like Marta. Social Security and Medicare work. They need improvements, not cuts. As I said, I have and always will work to protect and expand these vital programs. Andy [Donate Now]( Forwarded Message {NAME}, Social Security and Medicare work. These programs have kept millions of seniors out of poverty for decades. They're immensely popular for good reason. Yet year after year, Washington Republicans target Social Security and Medicare. Now they're using the debt ceiling as an excuse to gut these programs, holding seniors and our country hostage. Congressional Republican leaders have already shown that they'll grind our entire government to a halt to get their way. I'll have and will always fight to protect the promises we make to seniors when they pay into Social Security and Medicare. Our grassroots movement is about serving and looking out for one another – that includes protections and improvements for Social Security and Medicare. Every hard-working American deserves to retire with dignity. With your help, I know we can protect seniors' retirement, and two important programs that have the ability to benefit seniors, our kids, and generations to come.
