Can't read or see images? [View this email in a browser]( [] [ Hello, I know many of us are tired from late nights awaiting election results. I hope you find yourself rejuvenated by Governor Murphy and Lt. Governor Oliver’s victory and by the work that still lies ahead -- I know I am. I look forward to the Murphy Administration bringing a much-needed focus on the mental health of young people and fighting to ensure that everyone can access the mental health support and services they need. And I am committed to doing my part to do the same both here in New Jersey and around the country. To that end, I want to update you on some exciting events and critical developments in the news. Kennedy Forum Webinar with Secretary of Education Dr. Miguel Cardona On November 12th from 2pm-3pm EST, I will be hosting and moderating a discussion with U.S. Education Secretary Dr. Miguel Cardona and other education leaders about how schools can help address our youth mental health crisis. “School-Based Mental Health: A National Priority,” will explore how education systems across the country can address the immediate mental health needs of students and integrate mental health curricula long-term. Topics of this panel discussion will include innovative approaches to engage youth, best practices for program development and assessment, strategies for addressing common challenges, and more.  Registrants will also hear directly from U.S. Education Secretary Dr. Miguel Cardona, Ed.D., who served as the Commissioner of Education in Connecticut during COVID. Roundtable Discussion with Delaware Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long Last week, I joined Delaware Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long, Dr. Vilicia Cade, CEO & Superintendent of the Capital School District, and Duncan Young, CEO of Effective School Solutions, to discuss school-based mental health and how we can provide schools with the resources needed to leverage mental health services and support for teachers, students and families. You can read more about it [here](. A National Emergency in Children’s Mental Health On October 19th, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Children’s Hospital Association declared a national state of emergency in child and adolescent mental health. The groups urged policymakers to take action immediately to address the youth mental health crisis in our country. You can find more information relating to the emergency [here](.
