Make Springtime Entertaining a Breeze [SEE EQUIPMENT GUIDE]( [Brenna Donovan, Digital Editor] Winter bums me out. Admittedly, I donât live in an ideal part of the country for this mindsetâNew England winters are not kidding around. But when the days start getting ever-so-slightly longer and itâs finally time to take my Bean boots out of rotation, I am in full-on warm-weather mode (surprise April snowstorms be damned).
A few years ago, I had a friend over for a celebratory spring-is-here dinner, and it has since become one of my favorite traditions. We sipped [negronis]( and snacked on a [charcuterie board]( while we made [Instant Pot Toasted Orzo with Shrimp and Feta]( showered in an almost absurd amount of dill (because what is springtime without fresh herbs?). For dessert, we spooned [Strawberry-Balsamic Compote]( over [vanilla ice cream]( which was the perfect not-too-sweet end to the meal.
If Iâm being completely honest, itâs not even that I like spring that much. I grew up in upstate New York, where spring really just meant a whole lot of slush and mud as a brief interlude to summer. But thereâs something really special about celebrating the change of the seasonâespecially with food. It makes it more intentional, less about the ending of something and instead marking the beginning. Growth. Rebirth. All that good stuff.

Reusable Plastic Cups
When itâs finally time to take the party outside, youâll need drinkware that is easy to transport and can withstand an accidental tumble onto the patio. Our favorite reusable plastic cups (a 16-oz. version perfect for lemonade or a cold beer and a shorter cocktail-size version) have textured exteriors to make gripping them easier and thin rims that were pleasant to drink from. Plus, theyâre pretty to look atâthereâs no need to settle for a red Solo cup. [Read more ›]( [Amazing Abby 16-Ounce Ice Cube Plastic Tumblers]( Co-Winner
