Nothing makes me happier than being in the kitchen with my kids, Verveine and Luca. Since they were old enough to sit up on the kitchen counter, theyâd help me cook. Verveine loved playing with pasta dough, squishing it into orecchiette or feeding it through the pasta roller. She still does. When Verveine was diagnosed with celiac disease a few years ago, she and I spent a ton of time together in the kitchen perfecting gluten-free versions of her favorite dishes, from pastas to cakes to waffles.
