Double-Crust Chicken Pot Pie
This genius Cookâs Country recipe for homemade tender-crusted chicken pot pie loaded with flavorful meat earned five-star ratings and âbest everâ comments from hundreds of members. Sour cream and an egg in the dough make for a crust that is really (truly!) easy to roll out. Rotisserie chicken streamlines the prep process while delivering juicy texture and savory flavor. The pot pie can be made ahead and frozen for up to a month. While members love it exactly as written, they also sub in different fillings (beef, fish, all vegetables . . . yes!). Donât miss the comments on this and other recipes during your free trial. [Icon]

“This is fabulous! I love pot pie but had never made one myself. It is so helpful to watch the video first. My pot pie looked great and tasted even better! I will make this again, we loved it. Thank you for a great recipe and a video!”

“Crust was wonderful! First pot pie I ever made where the bottom was crisp and sturdy enough to stand up to the hearty filling of a meat pie. Thank you ATK! I have learned so much I can transfer to other recipes.”

Parmesan Roasted Cauliflower
Cauliflower wins our vote for the vegetable you can transform from kind of bland to very much amazing with the right recipes. We wanted browned, roasted florets with a cheesy, crispy, crunchy, stay-put coating of Parmesan. Getting the cheese to cling from the sheet pan to your fork and on to your mouth took some test kitchen ingenuity (and a few common pantry ingredients). Easy-peasy cheesy, and pairs well with all kinds of mains. [Icon]

Product Reviews
A key to this recipeâs success is using finely grated Parmesan cheese, which clings better than shredded or coarsely ground cheese. The test kitchenâs favorite rasp-style grater stays sharp, makes quick and easy work of all manner of grating and zesting tasks, and cleans up easily. At less than $15, itâs a bargain, too.

Millionaireâs Shortbread
The test kitchen has many iconic dessert recipes, but our Millionaireâs Shortbread is ALL CAPS-WORTHY SCRUMPTIOUS. The tender just-right crumbly shortbread base, the buttery sweet caramel layer, and the shiny chocolate âtop hatâ that snaps when you take a bite add up to cookie perfection. “I love these! I've been making them for a few years now, and they are a hit everywhere I take them. I'm always surprised how short the ingredient list is and how simple each step is.”

Test Kitchen Discovery
Our test cooks look at every variableâincluding even a few degrees of temperature variation between cooked caramelâwhen developing new, best-ever failproof test kitchen recipes. What we learned: Using different brands of a key ingredient results in texture differences, including some recipe fails due to the caramel breaking or separating during heating. By adding a dairy element, the caramel stays emulsified and the perfect consistency for these bars.
