They fled to Poland, where they found safety at an Americares partner clinic, receiving the critical examinations and medicines Oksana's daughters needed for their Down Syndrome. ]( [The Acceptance Foundation is an Americares partner in Poland that evacuates critically ill patients out of Ukraine and also provides specialized care and support for transgender individuals and other members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Since the partnership began, 227 Ukrainian refugees have received vital health care, including blood and hormone-level testing, ultrasounds and more. ]( [During wartime, patients with tuberculosis need a steady supply of medicine and a safe, isolated place to shelter during air raids. Americares has delivered more than ten tons of medicine and supplies for people with tuberculosis and has helped transform a hospital basement into a safe and secure air raid shelter.]( Thank you for reading these powerful stories from the ongoing war in Ukraine.
