As we enter the third year of the war, the United States faces [troubling questions about its commitment to upholding democratic values and its continued role as a global leader](. A faction of far-right congressional Republicans [has signaled its opposition]( to aid for Ukraine, putting at risk essential funding for the countryâs defense, economic, and humanitarian needs. This plays into the hands of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is counting on Western support for Ukraine to [wane over time](. On February 13, 2024, the Senate passed a new [bipartisan assistance package]( for Ukraine. That package is pending in the House, where Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and House Republican leadership have a critical choice to make: uphold the principles of freedom and democracy or face a continent fractured by Russian aggression, with all the attendant risks of wider conflict and instability. Johnson must allow the House to vote on this important assistance. Support for Ukraine extends beyond the obligation to aid a partner in distress; itâs the United Statesâ duty to reinforce the foundational principles of the international order, upon which American prosperity relies, and to secure a future safe for democracy. Urge your representatives to stand strong in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and pass the bipartisan aid bill. The $35 monthly insulin cost cap for Medicare Part D beneficiaries, introduced through the Inflation Reduction Act, has cut the price of her medication in half and helped her stop living paycheck to paycheck. This change, along with [other IRA drug cost-savings provisions in the law]( is ensuring that some of our most vulnerable community membersâthose who are sick or are older adultsâ can access the prescription medication they need at affordable prices. âMillions of Americans in Michigan and across the country will now be able to afford prescriptions they previously couldnât,â says Bloink. âThatâs worth celebrating and uplifting.â [Read Pam's Story]( See federal investments in action [Biden Administration Investment Tracker]( Explore the [Biden Administration Investment Tracker]( to see the impacts of the administrationâs legislationâincluding new jobs, better infrastructure, and more.
