The indictment comes after a nearly yearlong investigation. On Tuesday, the special counsel Jack Smith outlined [four federal charges]( against Trump for his campaign to discredit the election results: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct the certification of electoral votes on January 6, obstruction of official proceedings, and conspiracy to deny Americans their right to vote. It is high time that Trump and his allies are held fully accountable. The legal process must be allowed to unfold free from political interference or threats. Prosecutors must act swiftly toward a fair trial, as this process remains a legal, not political, matter. The indictment serves as a reminder that no one is above the law. Now, the state has a future making electric vehicles (EVs). Thanks in part to incentives and investments from President Joe Biden's economic policies, General Motors (GM) and LG Energy Solution are investing more than $7 billion to develop an EV battery factory in Lansing, Michigan. This partnership between LG and GM, which has historically produced a large number of gas-guzzling and pollution-spewing cars, will help lower emissions and give Americans more clean energy transportation options. By the end of 2025, the Orion Assembly facility will be improved and expanded in order to fit the needs of a facility that can build a large volume of EV batteries for Chevrolet Silverados and GMC Sierras. The project is estimated to produce 1 million EVs annually, assisting in GM’s goal to have EVs make up between [40 percent and 50 percent]( of their sales. The GM and LG facility is a great example of the Biden administration’s ability to incentivize private companies to invest in new clean energy projects that boost the American economy, create jobs, and grow the middle class.
