Banning President Trump will help the country survive through inauguration Problems viewing this email? [View it in your web browser.]( [Center for American Progress]( Take Action: Trump Must Be Banned From Social Media Platforms Dear Friend, It's simple: The words of a president always matter. And we've seen time and time again that President Trump will use his words to incite violence, wielding social media as a vehicle for his messages of hate and destruction. [Permanently banning all of President Trump's social media accounts isn't optional. It's a matter of public safety.]( [TAKE ACTION]( Since losing the election, President Trump's public appearances have been rare, but his attempts to destroy American democracy have been frequent. For months, the president has weaponized social media to spread dangerous disinformation about the election and to incite right-wing extremists to avenge his loss. His destructive efforts culminated in the white supremacist mob that attacked the U.S. Capitol last week. The actions that some companies took in response were long overdue first steps, but may only be temporary unless we continue to pressure them. [Tell social media platform heads: President Trump should be permanently banned from all social media platforms.]( It's our most immediate chance to prevent him from inciting further violence and causing more damage to our democracy. The damage done to the integrity of U.S. elections is clear. Banning President Trump will help this nation survive through inauguration and beyond.
