they are words that hurt my soul Dear Patriot, My grandfather suffered the indignity of leaving school as a third grader to pick cotton, and never learned to read or write. Yet, he lived to see his grandson become the first African American to be elected to both the United States House and Senate. So when those on the left call me “token”, “Uncle Tom” or a race “traitor” it is more than just insults typed on a computer, they are words that hurt my soul. These words should anger you too. They represent the very worst of our politics. I strive every day to rise above it and work towards finding solutions for ALL Americans. [Stand with Me]( We cannot allow the Left to get away with their ongoing attacks against anyone who dares to think differently. My family went from Cotton to Congress in one lifetime. And that’s why I believe the next American century can be better than the last. I know that the insults and attacks I face today are nothing like the injustice and hatred faced by my grandfather. But I know we can do better. So when you read attacks against me for daring to think differently, don’t get discouraged. Get activated. Get Motivated. Get Involved. [Stand with Me]( There are millions of families like mine across this nation, full of potential seeking to live the American Dream. I pledge to you that I will fight every day to help ALL Americans achieve that dream and I won’t back down from that fight even in the face of hurtful insults from the Left. Tim Scott We cannot allow the Left to get away with their ongoing attacks against anyone who dares to think differently. My family went from Cotton to Congress in one lifetime. And that’s why I believe the next American century can be better than the last.
