they are words that hurt my soul Dear Patriot, My grandfather suffered the indignity of leaving school as a third grader to pick cotton, and never learned to read or write. Yet, he lived to see his grandson become the first African American to be elected to both the United States House and Senate. So when those on the left call me “token”, “Uncle Tom” or a race “traitor” it is more than just insults typed on a computer, they are words that hurt my soul. These words should anger you too. They represent the very worst of our politics. I strive every day to rise above it and work towards finding solutions for ALL Americans.
