Jobs and homes have been lost. Families have been destroyed. The DOJ's goal is to terrorize these people to set an example for us all. What we see today are the same tactics King George III used before the Revolutionary War started. The British Crown used "writs of assistance" to carry out wide-ranging searches and arrests of anyone for anything. The tactic inspired James Madison to write the Fourth Amendment to our Constitution to protect our privacy. Today, our government uses high-tech methods to do the same, tracking down anyone who stepped foot on Capitol grounds on January 6th and then using "anonymous" tips to determine their crimes. Just as King George III abused his power to quell a rebellion among the colonists, our government is abusing its power to do the same. It's 1776 all over again, and the defendants I represent are the last, best hope that our nation can continue to trust in our Constitution to keep our government in check. My fight for these men and women isn't just about keeping them out of jail; it's about preserving the framework of our Republic.
