Illinois lawmakers are trying to redefine child abuse

A sinister bill is making its way through the Illinois legislature… …and if it passes, it’s only a matter of time before other states – blue, purple, and red alike – adopt this policy. Illinois House Bill 4876 would change the definition of “abused child” to include minors whose parents object to their children receiving puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, transgender surgeries, and abortions. It also conveniently shields doctors from liability if they prescribe these treatments to minors without parental consent. I know how this ends. Doctors coerced Layla Jane into a double mastectomy at 13 years old. Doctors coerced Chloe Cole into a double mastectomy at 15 years old. Doctors coerced Luka Hein into a double mastectomy at 16 years old. And all three regret the “gender affirming care” inflicted upon them. Now the state of Illinois wants to put thousands of kids in their position – but without the opportunity to later file a medical negligence lawsuit against predatory doctors. This is SICK.
