Overturning Roe v. Wade would be disastrous for our nation â and particularly in Ohio, where Republican extremists are pushing to ban abortion before most people even know that they're pregnant! And wacko J.D. Vance, Tim's opponent, would surely lead the charge for a nationwide abortion ban. This is ludicrous. The only way we can stop these egregious bans and protect reproductive rights is by expanding our Democratic majority in the Senate. That's why we need leaders who will fight for the right to choose. And a few days ago, we found out my GOP opponent is right-wing, anti-abortion extremist J.D. Vance. Overturning Roe would be catastrophic for Ohio, where Republicans have introduced one extreme proposal after another to ban abortion before most women even know they're pregnant. Our work has never been more important than right now. A 50-50 Senate has failed to protect abortion for people across the country. From the minority, Republicans abused the filibuster to block the Womenâs Health Protection Act that would have codified Roe. 50-50 is not enough. If we want to make an impact on the issues that really matter, we must expand our Democratic majority â and that means we must win this race.
