Today is a day to reflect on all we're thankful for — and for those of us at the Alzheimer's Association, that certainly includes you. [( [Alzheimer's Association]( [DONATE NOW](
[Happy Thanksgiving.]( Dear Friend, Today is a special day to reflect on all that we're thankful for — so I want you to know how grateful I am to have partners like you in the fight against Alzheimer's disease. Thanks to our generous supporters, the Alzheimer's Association was able to provide millions of people across the country care and support when they needed it most. You also helped us reach a monumental milestone: an astounding $100 million investment into research initiatives in 2023, the largest single-year investment in our history illustrates the momentum we're building today in our efforts to discover life-changing breakthroughs tomorrow. Still, today I — like you — am mindful of the more than 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer's, and their over 11 million caregivers, for whom Thanksgiving is not just a day about gratitude but one that may also come with disappointment, sadness and stress. A person living with Alzheimer's may feel a special sense of loss during the holidays because of the changes they have experienced — perhaps they once prepared the turkey or another traditional dish, herded everyone outside for a game of touch football or led the "What I'm thankful for" discussion around the table. If you or someone you love needs support at any time during this holiday season, please know the Alzheimer's Association is here for you. Our website has a [The Holidays and Alzheimer's]( page complete with tips and resources for safely enjoying the holidays with loved ones while managing one's own well-being. Meanwhile, someone is always on the other end of our free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) — staffed by specialists and master's-level clinicians — to offer resources, information and support. Of course, we can't offer any of these free resources without generous friends like you. Thank you once again for all you have done throughout the year to support our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. We're so grateful for your support, today and every day. Happy Thanksgiving, from our family to yours. Donna McCullough
