It's the perfect time to join the fight against Alzheimer's, a disease that disproportionately affects women. [Alzheimer's Association]( [DONATE NOW](
[Double Your Impact in May Challenge]( Dear Friend, With Mother's Day just three days away, many of us are thinking about the amazing women we have in our lives. [I can't think of a better time to join the fight against Alzheimer's and show your support for women — and for everyone — impacted by this disease.]( I say this for three reasons:
- Alzheimer's is a women's issue. The estimated lifetime risk for Alzheimer's at age 45 is 1 in 5 (20%) for women compared to 1 in 10 (10%) for men.
- Of the more than 6 million people living with Alzheimer's in the United States, 4.1 million are women.
- It's the perfect way to honor a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend or other special woman in your life who has been impacted by this disease.
I can even give you a fourth reason. When you make your first gift to the Alzheimer's Association today during our [Double Your Impact in May Challenge]( it can go TWICE as far to help women, men and everyone impacted by this disease. [Donate Now](
Our friends at the Eisenberg Family Trust have generously pledged $375,000 to the Alzheimer's Association for the purpose of matching all gifts, up to that amount, from our community of supporters by June 15. Their gift will support local chapters in engaging health systems and health centers, with the goal of helping advance dementia care coordination programs for diverse communities. Your gift can have TWICE the impact on advancing promising Alzheimer's research and helping to provide care and support. [Don't miss this limited-time opportunity to make your first gift now, while it can go 2X as far.]( Make your Mother's Day gift and achieve 2X the impact with one gift.

Of the many mysteries surrounding Alzheimer's, one of the most puzzling is why more women than men develop the disease. Researchers are still trying to figure out why, among other questions surrounding the disease and the way it impacts women and men differently. Not only are women more likely to have Alzheimer's, they are also more likely to be caregivers of those living with this devastating disease. Friend, these women, and those who love them, are counting on you to [become our newest supporter and make 2X the impact]( on our work to address the impact of this devastating disease by:
- Supporting caregivers. More than three in five unpaid Alzheimer's caregivers are women.
- Investing in vital research to understand more about this devastating disease — including the higher prevalence of Alzheimer's and all other dementia in women compared with men.
- Partnering with organizations like the Association of Black Women Physicians, The Links, Incorporated, an elite group of Black women including Vice President Kamala Harris, and the National Council of Negro Women to advocate for health equity.
- Helping secure access to all FDA-approved Alzheimer's treatments for everyone who can benefit.
Please don't hesitate. When you join our community of supporters today, your gift can go TWICE as far. You're honoring all those moms, sisters and friends in your life, AND you're taking urgent action in the fight to end Alzheimer's for everyone. [Will you please stand with us and fight this global health crisis to help change the course of this dreaded disease?]( [Donate Now](
To have you in this fight would mean the world to us and to those affected by Alzheimer's. Please don't let this opportunity to double your impact pass you by. I don't know when an offer this generous will come around again. For every woman in your life, [please join the fight today with a special gift that can go twice as far to support our mission]( to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. If you're celebrating on Sunday, a very happy Mother's Day from our family to yours. Gratefully, Liz Adams
