Open for a special Mother's Day message. Dear Friend, It's Mother's Day, a special occasion to honor

Open for a special Mother's Day message. [Alzheimer's Association]( [DONATE NOW]( [Today, we honor mothers everywhere. ]( Dear Friend, It's Mother's Day, a special occasion to honor the mothers and special women who've touched our lives and who hold a dear place in our heart. This includes moms living with or affected by Alzheimer's disease, moms who serve as caregivers, and moms who continue to offer us their unwavering love and support. And we commemorate the cherished time we spent with mothers who are no longer with us. We also recognize the disproportionate impact Alzheimer's has on women. With more than 10 million women in the United States either living with the disease or caring for someone who has it, there's no doubt that Alzheimer's is a women's issue. A woman's estimated lifetime risk of developing Alzheimer's at age 65 is 1 in 5. In fact, women in their 60s are more than twice as likely to develop Alzheimer's than they are to develop breast cancer. This crisis is growing — and we're here to help the millions of women and all people impacted by Alzheimer's by providing care and support and advancing research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure. Today, we celebrate and honor the amazing women who don't give up and who nurture, encourage and inspire those around them every day. For mothers and women everywhere, we vow to keep up the fight as we further our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. We know Mother's Day can be a difficult time for those who have experienced loss and for families who are currently caring for someone living with the disease. If you're living with Alzheimer's or are in need of care or support, we are here all day, every day.
