Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411 [] May 30, 2023 [] Reader, In honor of yesterdayâs Memorial Day, I want to take a moment to pay tribute to all the incredible men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting for our country. Including those who lost their lives since returning from the front line... As a nation, weâve lost a lot of good soldiers since 9/11. But whatâs particularly tragic is the number of veterans who lost their lives since returning home from battle. In fact, that number is four times higher than the deaths that occurred during military operations. Our veterans are facing a suicide epidemic. And in large part, itâs due to the high rates of traumatic brain injuries, or TBIs, that our soldiers suffered from caused by IEDs and other explosions. Whatâs really unforgivable is that many of our veterans continue to be ignored by the government they served since their release from active duty. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, the suicide rate for these veterans jumped 76% since 2005.1 Traditional medicine has historically treated TBIs with a long list of drugs that include everything from anti-anxiety medications to anti-psychotics to sedatives. These drugs often end up doing a lot more damage to the brain â and a personâs overall health. Today, there is hope for these soldiers that doesnât involve dangerous and often ineffective pharmaceuticals. [capt mat] Captain Matthew Smothermon says HBOT saved his life. Iâm talking about hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Let me tell you about one veteran whose life was saved after undergoing HBOT. His name is Captain Matthew Smothermon. It was his job to find and destroy IEDs in Afghanistan. On one mission, his vehicle was struck by three large IEDs. His injuries were severe. He describes the experience this way: âOne day I woke up, but my brain didnât⦠I had severe lapses in cognition. I could barely read and my hopes and dreams of going to law school were dashed. âAs the full reality of my TBI came to light, I began a slow spiral into depression. I was a shadow of my former self.â That was before Captain Smothermon had HBOT therapy. Hereâs what he says now: âToday, I can say that I have recovered from the TBI that fundamentally changed my life. Iâve seen the data from my cognitive test results, and I know this is true. But nothing comes close to seeing your wife, a full year after you have returned from war, look at you with tears in her eyes and tell you, âItâs good to have you back.ââ If youâre a regular reader, you know by now that HBOT is the delivery of high-pressure oxygen to your body. At my clinic, I treat patients with 100% oxygen at two times the normal atmospheric pressure. You see, HBOT works because it infuses your body with oxygen. It increases oxygen levels in your red blood cells, encouraging the healing and regeneration of tissues, blood vessels, and nerves. With HBOT, your lungs take in more oxygen than would be possible if you were breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure. The combination of pressure and oxygen physically dissolves more oxygen into your red blood cells, boosting oxygen levels and encouraging healing and regeneration. Studies show breathing pressurized oxygen also stimulates the release of growth factors and stem cells. This also promotes healing and gets the cells working again. Before And After HBOT Therapy [hot brain] The green on the pre-HBOT brain (left) indicates damaged, inactive areas. After 40 HBOT sessions, the brain on the right is healthy and wide awake. Iâve seen how HBOT changes the lives of patients with Alzheimerâs, dementia, and Parkinsonâs. In a study at Tel Aviv University in Israel, doctors used HBOT on 74 patients suffering from paralysis years after a stroke. Two months later, every patient reported significant improvement⦠They recovered from paralysis, were able to speak again, and had an increase in sensation. Brain scans showed increased neuronal activity.2 Another study showed that HBOT boosts brain neuroplasticity after a stroke. Thatâs your brainâs ability to reorganize itself by forming new white matter connections that bypass and find their way through the roadblocks created by the lesions. And studies prove these connections can still be re-formed and activated years after a stroke has taken place.3 This flies in the face of everything the medical establishment has preached for years⦠That itâs impossible for a dying brain could be revived or even healed. You see, traditional convention believes that cognitive decline is triggered by dead brain cells. But today, we know that these cells arenât dead. Theyâre asleep â and can be woken up once they receive intense doses of oxygen. Delivering high doses of oxygen using hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or HBOT, triggers your bodyâs natural healing process to: - Trigger the release of your own stem cells. As you know, stem cells power up your immune system and ignite your bodyâs natural healing power. - Snuff out the fire of inflammation. Oxygen is the mortal enemy of inflammation. It puts out the fire and, with it, the inflammatory diseases that drag you down. - Turn on DNA and genes. Oxygen turns on the genes and DNA linked with growth⦠the same ones that encourage healing. - Suffocate deadly diseases. Cancer and many other diseases can only thrive in a low-oxygen setting. Flooding your body with oxygen makes it inhospitable for them to live. - Encourage the regeneration of tissues, blood vessels, and nerves. Oxygen has long been known for its remarkable regenerative ability. Discover How HBOT Can Heal Your Brain Because HBOT improves blood flow and oxygen to the brain, it can reverse the memory loss, confusion, and additional mental problems that come with traumatic brain injury, Alzheimerâs, and other cognitive problems. It makes me angry that HBOT is just one in a long list of real health solutions that our government, for-profit healthcare companies, and mainstream medicine ignore or dismiss. If youâre interested in HBOT therapy at the Sears Institute for Anti-Aging Medicine for yourself or for a loved one, please call my staff at 561-784-7852. Theyâll be happy to schedule an appointment.
