Many of the conclusions reached by author Dan Buettner have nothing to do with diet or nutrition. While many associate Blue Zones with the Mediterranean diet — It’s really just a myth. And I can tell you with certainty, I’ve never heard a person put the words "vegetarian” and "centenarian” together in the same sentence. Ditch the Blue Zone Myth and Power UP in the "Primal Zones” Blue Zones are wishful thinking. They trumpet ideologies without including anything about how we became the strongest, fastest, smartest, and most successful species on the planet. We’ve been the "apex predator” for over one million years — while evolving into the builders of advanced civilizations and technologies. And it didn’t have anything to do with eating more beans. The real power behind human resilience and achievement comes from what I call "Primal Zones” — the areas where people still have access to their native foods and follow their centuries-old traditions. - Like the Hadza of Tanzania in East Africa — Where they have one of the most powerful immune systems of any people on Earth. - Or the Inuit of Alaska, who traditionally consume a very high-fat diet, yet have had no history of heart disease. One of the core nutrients that provided us with bigger brains, unmatched strength, and robust immunity is an incredible healing oil found in the fat of primal prey.
