According to a 2020 report published by the [University of Michigan](, Black people with uteruses are far more likely to develop these masses in comparison to their white counterparts. In fact, between the ages of 18 and 30, an estimated 25% of Black women* will be diagnosed, while only about 6% of white women will receive the same news. By 35, that number spikes to 60% for Black women—not to mention, this demographic is at least two times more likely to develop recurring fibroids post-treatment.
